The R. Harold and Patsy Harrison Foundation has recently shared that they have pledged to donate over $2.6 million to establish a Distinguished Professorship in poultry science at the University of Georgia. This donation is in addition to a pledge made earlier this year for $1 million to go toward the Poultry Science Building that is estimated to be completed by Fall 2023. Mr. Harrison, Harrison Poultry’s founder, graduated from UGA’s CAES (College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences) department in 1941 and UGA’s Poultry Science program continues today to be one of the best programs in the nation.
Our CEO, David Bleth, shared in January, “I serve on the UGA Poultry Science Building Committee and was present at the IPPE UGA booth to be part of this incredible announcement. I am SO very proud of the two Harrison Foundations taking the lead on contributing to this great project. Thank you thank you thank you!!!”
Following in the footsteps of the Harrison foundations, Harrison Poultry, Inc, donated $225,000 to the UGA Poultry Science Building’s construction and will be interning two UGA Poultry Science students this year.
